Freddie Franklin, a high school sophomore, received a scarab from his paternal Grandfather after passing a challenging Algebra test during a special rites of passage ceremony. Afterwards, he started having dreams of being visited by the Council of the Universe, who revealed to him that he was chosen to be Earth's champion. Now, he has the responsibility of protecting the planet as its defender from his base in Nova City. However, he must also balance being a teenager while facing various threats like cosmic dangers, paramilitary terrorists, extraterrestrial invasions, costumed maniacs, religious cults, and wealthy masterminds with world domination ambitions. Will he be able to handle all of these challenges and still make it to class on time?
